Another week, another baby in New Zealand is horrifically tortured and battered by a care giver, a 26 year old man. Protector, guardian? Supposed to be the shield of the weak, defender of the hearth/home? Three months of this girl’s life were spent being tortured by this disgusting excuse of a human being: he delighted in it and needs to be put down. Why the fuck are they allowed oxygen? I mean, seriously? Read my piece and this link at your own peril.

‘There are no acceptable solutions for *some* problems.’ Sheri S Tepper. Some are too grave.
What do these baby torturers and killers add to the world? To the sum of human experience and endeavour? How is our experience and world enriched by their battery and torture of our most vulnerable? This little darling wasn’t even two years old. TWO. She lived. She is severely battered, cognitively damaged and will require specialist care her entire life, thanks to the senseless violence of a mindless appetite clothed in a meat suit. So if you can tell me what possible use these violent defectives serve in our society, I’m all ears. Otherwise, why not teach them the hemp fandango? Can you tell me a compelling reason why they deserve oxygen after such savagery? I would sleep soundly knowing he died at the end of a rope, no lie.
Two things, before we proceed: do NOT come at me with the ‘victims of victims’ or ‘hurt people hurt people’ mantra. There is no version of my universe, any universe, where the torture and battery of babies is acceptable, yet here we are. I don’t give a fuck about your sad story, we all have one. It does NOT give YOU licence to hurt the weak. Ever.
Will he get a Cultural Report written for him, explaining his post-colonial trauma that led to his regretful spree of violence? #Probably Will his WHANAU close ranks as we’ve seen time and time and TIME again, while the police stand on their own hands in a bid to not give offence to the professional victim industry that’s sprung up around tangata whenua? That Waitangi Tribunal sure has given rise to grievances that require financial solutions *thinking face* while problems on the ground remain the same.
I’m so angry that death and maiming stories of how Maori kill their young are reported on, yet no root causes or questions are allowed to be asked about why we kill or hurt our young in droves. Don’t believe me? Here:
Baby Ru(thless) Empire and too many others. I can reel a few off, off the top of my head it’s been so common: a tragic and ugly thread that’s been running through our nation’s story for some time.
We can’t even talk about it without being shut down because muh racism… I’m wahine Maori and though there are billions of dollars in iwi coffers and Maori own businesses and have deals with water companies and greenstone companies, kauri gets shipped offshore, intellectual property rights for honey are taken care of, you betcha! Casinos and hotels are owned. $132m for Whanau Ora to carry on doing fuck knows what it does… The Waipareira Trust is like a black hole of finance whereby it sucks up massive amounts of lucre from government - our - money. Many iwi own and run companies with government contracts so the coffers are constantly topped up in an ongoing manner as above. Yet we kill and maim our babies, our most vulnerable, and if we try to talk about it, with a view to ending it, are accused of racism by these so-called iwi leaders/politicians. How can we stop it if we can’t even fucking talk about it?
There are so many good and great parts of our culture, heritage, tikanga, kaupapa, whakapapa. Why do we continue to feature so negatively in so many ways, and in this most egregious way, so highly? I know my piece here won’t solve it, it’s an horrific and quite frankly, shameful indictment upon us. If you can name it you can tame it: a trite cliche saying from recovery rooms. Yet like a lot of wisdom issuing thenceforth, a grain of truth therein.
How can we solve a problem if we can never talk about it? I am grieving, angry, heartsick at the continuing casual, cruel brutality that festers and continues to fester at the very heart of Maoridom in our country. Yet I am willing to have the conversation to start the road to healing this disgusting sickness, this anti-life, anti-decency sickness that means our most vulnerable suffer and continue to suffer at our hands. No. Make it stop. E tu!
Don't hang them: harvest them for organ transplants. Then at least parts of them can be rehabilitated even if the whole man can't be.
I have recently come to the understanding that the violence is our legacy from ancient Rome. Do we, who call ourselves “civilized,” or do we not still exist within the framework of sexual terrorism that was instituted in the “civilization” this particular (Greek-Roman) branch of Indo-Europeans from the Eurasian steppe developed? My suggestion as a half Portuguese Hawaiian half WASP vahine (?) in California is that this vicious system of male dominance was instituted during the Bronze Age, while leading up to the environmental events which culminated in the Late Bronze Age Collapse. The “civilization” which appeared after that Collapse has been markedly sadistic. Maori people have not been engaged in the pattern for as long as the pale Indo-Europeans have been. I hope my next point is food for thought. Do you know of any Māori philosophical/spiritual leaders who recommend a return to traditional diet? Those domesticated annual grass seeds, when consumed without sprouting/soaking first, are an exceptionally hot feed for humans! As an autodidactic natural health philosopher and unaffiliated animist/pagan in my spiritual viewpoint, I suggest getting these darned things out of the men particularly, especially if their skin contains melanin. Not enough room here to explain in more detail, other than to say that the seeds are particularly “Yang” in their energy signature. Chemically speaking, if not leached properly first, they carry whopping levels of antinutrients, and even when processed to remove those poisons, when consumed they jerk our blood sugar levels up and down, in addition to other unhelpful health effects. Indigenous people the world over invariably understand to properly leach nuts and seeds before consuming them, but the WASPs in particular don’t seem to have a clue about it. The ignorant pales in the American South turned up with a disorder called pellagra in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries, caused by consuming corn without nixtamalizing it first, like the Indigenous Americans who developed the grain did. Didn’t mean to go on this long about it, but if you consider the fact that mainstream scientists say that the consumption of domesticated grain (cereals and legumes) far north of the equator is what produced the pale skin-hair-and-eye phenotype(s) of Europe, then maybe the connection can be seen? I’d just bet that there are natural health philosophers/spiritual leaders among your Maori people that are suggesting something similar to what I’ve said here. Mahalo! ☮️❤️🐾
